Mississippi Bridge #15

1915 Bridge HDR

Here is a picture I took of Omaha Road Bridge #15 which is located a few miles up river of downtown St. Paul.  This historic swing bridge was built by the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Omaha Railway in 1915.  The bridge is designed to force barge traffic heading up river to cross over to their respective shore of the river, while those heading downstream are able to maintain their normal traffic pattern.  It is still in use today.
