Here’s a shot from my recent road trip up to Grand Portage State Park which is located at the Northeastern point of Minnesota. My photo comrade and I hiked in a snowstorm in hopes of photographing the high falls. The views were spectacular along our hike with deep canyons, rootbeer dyed rapids, and endless rolling hills of trees and rocks.
From our campsite in Arcane Meadows I was awoken with the words “You should come check out this sunrise.” I had spent most of the night fighting for sleep in the cold, but this breathtaking sunrise view from camp was beyond worth the night’s struggles. Photo from my 2015 hike up to Telescope Peak, Death Valley National Park.
The great Willow River falls are an impressive sight to bear anytime of the year. Seen here in December, 2015.
At 10:14PM I took a moonlit exposure of the St. Croix River from our canoe campsite. The moon was super bright and full that night so flashlights were almost unnecessary. There is a red glow visible on the trees/grass from the camp fire. f/8, ISO-800, 110sec.
We decided to hike up for a better view at Logan’s Pass. This place is straight out of my dreams. I didn’t even mind the incoming rain and lighting.
Mountains are stunning from any distance. Photo taken in Rocky Mountain National Park.
