Here’s a bit of a tribute to my photographer hero: Ansel Adams. I took 3 exposures to form a brighter image with the morning light. The photograph involved a very precarious early morning climb down a slope with my camera/tripod which made for some good fun! – Enjoy
This photo is from a slightly different location than where Ansel shot his infamous Tetons with Snake river photo (trees now block that spot) but it’s very close. 8/27/2017
One can expect to see many lookouts while traveling on the superior hiking trail. Here’s a springtime view of Poplar River taken on my recent 3-day trek. 5/27/2017
The great Willow River falls are an impressive sight to bear anytime of the year. Seen here in December, 2015.
At 10:14PM I took a moonlit exposure of the St. Croix River from our canoe campsite. The moon was super bright and full that night so flashlights were almost unnecessary. There is a red glow visible on the trees/grass from the camp fire. f/8, ISO-800, 110sec.
The hike up to Mill’s Lake was perfect with temps around 70°F and a cool breeze. I enjoyed hiking over snow mounds in my t-shirt and sunglasses. The rapid snow melt laced our trail with many small streams and river crossings.
An elevated view of the willow river as a storm overcomes the woodland landscape. f/8, 1/20 sec, ISO-100
The forceful falls of Willow River State Park. This park is only an hour drive from Minneapolis which makes it an excellent location for day trips or weekend camping.
