Dusk at Deer Haven, Badlands National Park. 3/16/2017
An 18-mile day of hiking led us to our destination of the day: Kearsarge Lakes. I just sat down for my freeze-dried meal when it started to hail. Luckily the hail was short lived and I was able to watch the sunset with my well earned dinner as the trout began their dusk feeding frenzy. Life on the JMT!
A sunset view from Carver Park Reserve in Minnesota. I found the clouds in this photo reminiscent of solar flares bursting from the sun.
I arrived at the Lutsen shoreline with just enough time for some vibrant dusk shots. I had fun trying not to break my ankles while crossing the jagged ice protrusions for this photo.
An extended view across the frozen coast of Minnesota’s North Shore.
Photograph taken near Lutsen, MN using my 75mm lens. I’ve always wanted to photograph the ice that freezes on the jagged shoreline of Lake Superior during winter months. Needless to say, it’s not the most desirable spot for traveling at that time of year.
