An old mossy tree I discovered near my camp in the Wind River Range. I always love getting a closer look at things with moss. There was an odd character to the this old tree that I found appealing. 8/23/2017
Nature
Autumn Falls
An autumn view of the falls at Big Woods State Park. The flow was quite heavy from all the recent rain which was a big change from the near trickle I experienced back in June. I plan to come back and photograph the falls when there’s snow on the ground. 10/7/2017
Hidden Falls
The picturesque hidden falls of Nerstrand Big Woods State Park. This park is about an hour south of Minneapolis and holds one of the last examples of big woods vegetation in MN. 6/24/2017
Enchanted Forest Trail
I took this photo at the end of a long and soggy day on the Superior Hiking Trail. It had been pouring all day, but the rain magically stopped as soon as I stumbled into my campsite. The forest came alive with golden sun rays pouring through the endless moss-riden trees. This trail is located along the Lake Superior shoreline of Minnesota and is well known to backpackers.
Shrouded Mt. Gould
Memories of a cloud-shrouded Mt. Gould from a few summers ago. I took this photo on my way across Swiftcurrent Lake in Glacier National Park. A ferry boat took us across Swiftcurrent and another ferry at Lake Josephine which led to the Grinnell Glacier trail. Oh how convenient!
Icefall
Photo from Minnehaha falls in Minneapolis. This place is a lot of fun to explore when the 53′ waterfall freezes over in the coldest months of winter. Once the waterfall freezes over, it forms an ice cave against the limestone walls of the cliff.
